…What happens next?
The most important thing to remember is that your hospital doctor or care team can only refer you if you are 100% happy to take part.
They may ask you about the project when you see them, or they may write to you to say you are eligible and ask if you are interested.
They will then let us know you are interested, and we will contact you and offer you an appointment with a research nurse.
The research nurse will go through the project in more detail, and answer any questions you may have. They will then ask you to sign a consent form, which shows that you have understood what the project involves and have agreed to take part.
Finally, the research nurse will take a sample of your blood. This will be used to analyse your genetic code and could identify the cause of your disease. If you want to know how the project started just click on the link to the 100,000 Project.
