Help needed to improve UK Genetic Test Reports
Can you help? Genetic medicine is the next revolution in healthcare. Genetic test reports are written for genetic experts to relay information back to patients. However, soon everyone employed to care for patients will need to understand genetic information and we need your help to improve the reports.
Are you over 18, a healthcare professional, nurse, physiotherapist or radiographer; do you work as a healthcare assistant or in clinical administration? In fact if you have regular contact with patients and are asked to help them understand their diagnosis or treatment then we need you.
Where and how
This is your choice, an online survey, lasts 10 minutes and you will be entered into a raffle for £100 Amazon voucher.
An interview face-to-face at the Centre for Mathematical Sciences (free parking is provided) or online via video call service (Skype, appear.in, Facetime) for which you will receive up to £15. If you attend the Centre travel expenses will also be reimbursed up to £20 (receipts required).
Who we are
The Winton Centre for Risk and Evidence Communication are working with representatives from the National Health Service, Association for Clinical Genomic Science, and the University of Cambridge to improve current genetic test reports.
We will ask you to discuss a sample report with a researcher and answer some questions.
Interviews will take place between 21st – 28thAugust and online surveys will be available from the 5th of September.
To take part please email Harry Gray, firstname.lastname@example.org and state whether you want to do an online survey or interview.
